Some A9 loaner fun from the weekend. I didnt get to the bird area to test BIF but had a lot of fun with it. I WANT IT!!!! I love the files in low light very usable at 6400 iso. I thought it was stellar on the 70-300 and very good on the adapted tamron 150-600 v1 Amount

So with the A9 being played with most of the weekend I put the 1968 Jupiter 9 85/2 on the A7rII.

Hand held f2 not sure shutter but iso was 200. Subject matter aside I was just goofing around..... went to process and realized. I NEED TO SHOOT MORE WITH THIS LENS

Many skipped the FE70-300, I'm very glad I didn't. Mine like your is sharp, maybe not L sharp but the price is excellent and the weight
is just wonderful. I feel like I can wield it for hours and hours. I didn't consider pseudo macro with it until now so thanks for that! Not
giving up the FE90 though. I think I got a good copy of that one too.

Filter adapter and filter holder arrived today in anticipation of the B18's arrival on Wednesday but sadly looked at the forecast and not
looking good for Milky Way....but all I really need is 15-20 seconds right :) Maybe a break in the clouds because I want to try the 12-24 on
the sky too.

it's sad that sony didnt make it better, so for now, when I want that range in AF, I'm forced to use the 24-240, which is only centrally good at the longer end. While the lens is no where near the level of zeiss optics, I can capture more dynamic scenes, like tumbling waves.

I loved the physical size of the 70-300, just wonderful.

I'm still conflicted on my longer lens, the zeiss was just not happening on my latest trips, where I'm shooting very dynamic subjects, whatever wildlife or action that happens. For still life, the IQ cant be denied, it's very good.

anyhow, some from the 24-240

Maybe I just got a decent copy.
My 24-240 though, well I couldn't get a sharp image at any focal length and sold it.
I'd love a superzoom for FE and may try another copy again someday.
My dream would be something like the Tamron 18-300 (or thereabouts) for the e-mount.

Got any imminent lens purchase plans Charlie? 12-24 or 16-35 GM?

As much as I'd love a 12-24mm I've decided to stick with what I've got. I might get swayed by amazing reviews of the 16-35mm GM though. Probably not, but going to keep an open mind on it. Hope SAR is right and it's just two weeks away from release.

24-120 ish, it's decent *stopped down

* a little weaker than the 24-70 f4 on the wide, and a little stronger on the tele at same FL. Having a 200mm is a must for me, shooting landscapes. I may fold one day and simply live with the 70-300 again, it's crossed my mind. 70-200 also crosses my mind as it's better, but the size and shorter range would be painful. TAP on the 100-300 may be another option, but it's so fragile, afraid it might break.

I'm probably going to grab the 16-35 GM as I'm enjoying the F4 version very much. I may not be in town when it first comes out, so I'll wait it out maybe till september-december, depending on gear lust :-P

for my style of shooting, I dont want to undermine the importance of filters, so I'm sticking to my plan. Hopefully, I can get a nice discount through greentoe, they've been nice when you dont want to pay retail for a new item.

Thanks David! That's exactly the effect I was going after. I'm glad you like it.
