found an area with 5 or 6 of these guys. they are almost as shy as kestrels. I've only ever seen one in my travels so very happy to stumble onto these

Boy are you sure nailed those good. Focus on the eye was perfect!

We have a lot of them in Nor Cal. Probably my favorite raptor. Well done!

A beautiful species, Bob, and very well captured. The second shot seems to show it holding a lizard or something.

What a beauty and what great shots. Super work Bob. I just goy back from my annual Kite weekend. Lots of Mississippi and Sallow-tailed but not a single one of these.

thanks so much. I have heard they are more common in the southwest. I am super stoked to have found these guys and will enjoy them until they move on
