And then it was summer and I went to the countryside to shoot birds a few times and then fell ill and couldn't process my shots. Then I got better and caught one of those terrible summer colds and I was back in bed again. I have a lot of catching up to do in the two bird threads but I also want to share some of the shots I took earlier and that I finally got to process.

Reed bunting.

And a juvenile Heron that I shot literally at dawn with a small crescent of the sun peaking above the horizon. I just love the setting.

So sorry to see that you've been ill, I don't write much (even when I contribute photos here) but have to say that I always look forward to your images and insights.

In each post there is a button MQ (bottom right, next to the LIKE button). Click that if you want to quote that post. Then go to the next comment you would like to quote and click the MQ button again. When you then click QUOTE or REPLY or the POST TO THREAD button the text editor opens and all the quoted posts are there.

A nice, clear explanation. I just want to add: After selecting the posts to multiquote, if you use the QUOTE button in one of them, that post will show up twice in your reply box. I use POST TO THREAD instead.

It is 28 deg C here. Summer is here in the True North.

I don't know what the temp is with the humidex included, or the "real feel", but it is always higher than the real temp, and they never include the wind chill factor in warm weather.

It's still semi-cool for this time of year (anything under 100F) here just above Dallas, TX.
The heat index has been up over 106F lately, though.
We're all dreading the other shoe dropping in August with temps over 100 for a large portion of the next month or so.
Still a small price to pay for me, as I don't do cold.

Not good for man or beast, even the hawks are panting today.
Well I've had enough, we're headed up for three days...thinking 6000
feet might help some. See you guys Tuesday.

My first attempt at the obligatory duck photos. I was probably changing settings way too often, but I enjoyed a lot of what I took. I just couldn't seem to get the flights in focus. I also tried my 70-200 f2.8 IS II, but it seemed to not have enough reach at times. Any comments would be welcome.

Canon 7d mkII, 300 f4 IS.

I am a dad that likes taking photos of my boys playing sports...and then other parents wanted some of their kids and so on. Please let me know what you think and what I could have done different. I love taking photos of sports, but want to get better..
