I spend a couple of hours at the South Eastern Orchid Society’s show at the Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showgrounds. Hosted by the Cactus and Succulent Society of Western Australia.

This is a standout! The lighting, background, angle are unusual and terrific. Would you describe the setup?

Thank you very much.
I was experimenting with a video light. The single flower was held in place with a clamp, sitting on a table, in total darkness. The camera was on very small tripod, on the table, pointing up. I was using Tokina 35mm/2.8 macro lens, which is my favorite lens for table top macro work.
I was hand holding a small video light, illuminating the flower from behind it. I played around with different light angles and different flowers, and came away with a few shots that I liked. I will post another one, next week.
