Jim,

I loved the series... and I have a question: Did you own the 1D X before you got the Mark ll? And if so.... was the upgrade worth it to you. The reason I ask is.... I'm saving up for a Mark ll.... It's going to take me a while. The rumors of the Mark lll will be out before I get there (Spring of 2019) ;)

I think I'll forego the 5D IV because I really need the speed for wildlife, or at least, I've convinced myself I do.

The top-line cameras (1DX, 1DX2) all get released just before the Olympics..so @ February 2020.

A residential house fire, not far from me.
Some of these are also in a "Post your Firefighter Shots" thread on this forum.

The camera's high burst rate also tracked this room air-conditioner on the way down (there is a series on Flickr)

The residents of the home got out safely and 3 firefighters were examined in hospital for most likely minor injuries.

I liked your set of photos because of how well you documented the fire...... but it did feel odd to "like" such destruction. I'm glad everyone involved is OK.

I'm about to head to Niagara Falls for a vacation. Nice shot. Is that vantage point readily accessible?

New circuit for me, Croft in the North of England. Horrendous journey both ways (thought motorways were introduced to help with traffic, not make huge parking lots for hours at a time) Anyway, weatherman said heavy rain all weekend so on with the full 'wets' and after a small shower Saturday morning the sun came and I did a great impression of a 'boil in a bag', Sunday I thought 'not going to fall for that again' so just a jacket and rain cover for the camera in my pocket - dry most of the day until the last couple of races then the atlantic dropped in which made for an interesting end to the day - had to drive back to the hotel in just a shirt and my boxers, reception girl thought it was amusing lol. A few that I like from the weekend, all with the 1DXmkII and the 70-200 2.8 mkII / 1.4 mkIII extender

#1 - on reflection

#2 - light shower on Saturday

#3 - Special Saloon track drying Escort

#4 - just checking the recycled gravel

#5 - did I mention it started to rain on Sunday

IMAGE: https://photos.smugmug.com/ClassicSportsCarClubCSCC/CSCC-2017/CSCC-Croft-23-July-17/i-Dc9crF9/0/d0863a1c/XL/C%2023-07-17%20%201123-XL.jpg

#6 - in fact it got a little moist to say the least lol

Coming back from Seattle on the ferry and saw some great light hitting the city at 4PM. Took 5 shots and stitched them in PS. I never get tired on the Skyline in this city
