I shot this for the local paper when Dennis played the local horse track/ casino. I never cared for Styx but at 70 Dennis sound as good as ever :/

Longest edge is limited to 480. So a square picture is bigger

Depends on the aspect ratio you are going for.

No, the longest edge will be resized to 480. So the most pixels I can get on the screen is 480X480, a perfect square. I tend to crop square-isn for online publication. A native 2:3 aspect ratio from the camera would only be 480x 320.

That's what I am saying, the longest edge being 480 doesn't dictate that you must use an aspect ratio of 1:1
