I concur; the only thing I don't care much for is the large negative space above her. Methinks you were using the centre point AF?

Good point @Alveric, the picture can be cropped from above. Yes I used the centre point AF.

What actually 'bothers' me about the picture is that if you were to crop, you'd chop off some of the window and probably most of the table on the left. These elements, which are normally distracting in photos, in this case I find particularly helpful to the image: I wouldn't want to lose anything of them.

Ah, well, please don't think I'm deconstructing or slamming your photograph. I actually like the image a lot, both in its content, the arrangement of the subject and elements, and –particularly– the colour palette: the contrast of the red and warm tones in your prepossessing wife's skin tone and dress with the cooler background and greenery that can be seen through the window is as striking as it is pleasant. It's all the goodness in the image that makes me go 'arrrgh, it was almost a 10 out of 10!!'
