Normally I prefer the negative space in front of the car... There are exceptions to that... This is one of them. Stellar shot.

Appreciate that - and couldn't agree more on exceptions.

At Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Practicing panning and these are some of the best i was able to get. Do you guys prefer to shoot wide then crop later or pan while zoom? Zoom felt to be much more difficult but maybe i should have tried a faster shutter

Why not zoom to where you think you want to be, then start your pan & shoot? Panning

Zoom felt to be much more difficult but maybe i should have tried a faster shutter

i did that later on and helped but there's more trees/fence in the way I didn't like it but the car itself was clear. Just looking for some tips to increase my rate of sharper images. Practice practice practice I guess. I did enjoy the day

Yes, it really is practice practice and more practice. And when you think you've mastered it, you'll have an off day and get fed up then next time, it's all good.

I've actually found it easier panning at stupid speeds like this after changing from a 300mm f/4 to a 2.8 (both on a monopod), despite it being almost 3 times the weight haha
