Jul 18, 2017 19:56 | #131 A simple post Micro Auto Focus test shot of our two mini barns,... my Dad's 'Man Shop' with his table grinders and stuff is in the far one, and all our lawn stuff is in the near one. Wanted to see who well the Tamron could capture the texture of the barn's siding after disengaging it from the Tap-in Console. Not bad. This thing is gorgeous. I never like the design of the 1st gen. It always looked retro to me...like Nikon designed it...LOL! I never like the design of the 1st gen. It always looked retro to me...like Nikon designed it...LOL! It is also built like the proverbial tank. Something the 1st gen lacked IMO. So far I'm very happy with it. I really wanted the Canon 2.8 II but that is just out reach (no pun intended) for me. I also like that it is black and doesn't stand out too much. I'm always paranoid my gear will get stolen. As far as focus breathing goes, I have not really tested it with my Canon 70-200 f4. Would that be a good comparison? Might as well do it, since I'm pretty sure, I'll keep the Tamron and sell the Canon. Any takers? You're gonna love it,... I'm guessing it'll be a keeper. Curiosity,... where was your focus point on the first shot? I'd do some quick testing for front & back focusing. You may have to scoop up the Tap-In console to dial in some AF micro adjustments. Very nice lens!
