thanks

it's a matter of getting use to the FOV, 15 can draw out the foreground in a dramatic fashion, where the 35 cannot as well. I'm sure you've read plenty of times when people mention the usability of the laowa 12 or CV 12 for certain scenes. These are even more extreme lenses, and you got to be careful how you use them.

A 24-70 is generally much more friendly for beachscapes, while a 16-35 a better fit for urban cities or landscapes with a foreground element.

At the queen mary a week or so back, using 16mm, drawing in the foreground, it's kind of annoying that they blocked off the fence section, so much easier to tresspass without the fence :-D

oh yes, it's at the water level, this FOV, you wont be able to see it, especially with the fencing clutter newly introduced.

EDIT: actually, you can see the sub, but it's got a lot of fencing clutter, not very apparent.

Oh yeah I know Joshua, bought a lens or two off of him even. I've admired his work for a while. He's got excellent kit but a whole lot of talent to go with it. I just can't stand the 400/2.8. Shot with a guy in Panama who carried one and it is simply massive. I'm at the point where if I can't get the shot without something like the 400/2.8 then I'm just not going to get the shot.

I like your mentality, at some point I wish I can say enough is enough and have the discipline to shoot with what I've got and stop the chase. If I cant get the shot with what I've got, then so be it!

I keep thinking that I'm a few lenses away from the perfect kit, but will that satisfy me in the long term? With my appetite for gear, probably not :-P

I'de like to slow down the gear purchases next year, but will I have the discipline? I guess with my wife around more, it's more difficult :-P

Nearly two years ago I go the idea for this image...after being bitten by the MW bug...finally pulled it off this past weekend...despite crappy weather forecasts, I made the 4+ hour trip to try to get this shot...2 image blend, taken right after each other, one for the sky, one for the foreground.

really nice. i wonder if the CV15 being a 4.5 lens can pull up a shot like that with the RII.

anyone had shot a MW with the CV15+RII combo?

Thanks. I don't know how well the CV15 would do. Not sure how it handles coma and star smearing in the corners.
