I just picked up a 40d as a camera to use and not worry in the case it gets damaged or stolen, etc. I own already a Canon 6d for professional work, but I rather keep that at home and not risk damage or theft to it in public, etc. After playing around with the camera all day, I can understand now why this model is a legend! I got it for $180 including battery, charger, 8gb and 2gb cf card, and bag. I plan on slapping a 50mm stm on it and bring this along with me everywhere.

I also got it maybe 6 months ago for around $200 with 2 batteries and a charger. My first intention was to use it only for time lapse in order not to ramp up shutter count on my 6D to quickly, but soon realized how usable this camera still is so now I use it even for everyday photography.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Bought it on a budget perfect camera to enjoy photography without having to spend an arm and a leg.

That's because it was, and still is, a great camera. Mine will turn 10 in two days, only camera I have ever pre-ordered. Still takes the same pictures it has always taken.

Some pics from the Salinas Air Show, September 30th - October 1st, 2017. The day was bright and sunny, and I was shooting the aircraft with the sun directly in front of me, slightly to the right. I rented a Canon EF 100-400mm L lens (Push-pull design), and set the ISO to 800 to get some high shutter speeds. First time I shot an air show with a long telephoto lens.

I will have to go to some more air shows next year. And buy the Canon EF 100-400mm L lens. :-)
