I wanted to get into petrol R/C helicopters years ago as a kid always wanted a Schweizer 300, but was way out of my league and price bracket.

P.

Heli's are really challenging. I can do reasonably well on the sim but not so well with mine. I do hope to fly one before this season ends but between bad weather & home maintenance time seems to fly.

A skill is developed through constant practice with a passion to improve, not bought.

Those must have been from Wednesday. It was quite the mess that day. Sweet shot on the Heritage Flight. Even at 1/60th they all look so crisp. It seems like on mine I can get 2 or 3 looking good, but one looks just a bit fuzzy - and that's at about 1/200th or so. Was the Heritage Flight photo handheld at 1/60th? I know some of you guys here are the masters of handheld, slow shutter shots.

Thanks.

I assume this was directed my way, yes these were taken on Wednesday. I am not too happy with what I got as I have gotten better results last year and it still was a great show to watch. All of these were hand held and I wanted to use slow shutter speeds to get prop blur. I took about 700 shots during that hour or so but only about 10 were usable, I was panning and clicking like crazy hoping to get a few good shots. There are a few more on my Flickr account if you like to see them.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's work here soon!

Wednesday was tough. With the rain on and off all day the skies were incredibly diffused. As soon as the planes hit 200 feet or so all color was gone. Yesterday, today and Saturday are prefect though.

That is probably the best looking aircraft I've seen. Beautiful.
