That'll be nice to have image stabilization and faster AF. I wonder if the f/2 generation glass will still be faster in AF.

f/2.8 will probably still produce nice compression at that FOV for portraits.

Portrait work can be done in so many ways. For communication sakes I like to be more closer to my subjects with faster glass for portraits. Some Canon guys will have their Sigma 135mm or Canon 135L as their go to lens. Fuji 90mm really would have been nice with image stabilization.

I would have imagined it would have been more feasible for Fuji to dump the old 35 f/1.4 and revised it with a newer AF motor. That'd probably kill the 35 f/2 sales though but some photogs will still buy due to smaller form factor.

Is there a demand for macro lenses for Fuji shooters???? 60mm seems sufficient to fit the void in the macro application.

I can't speak for everyone, but it will work for me. The focal length is perfect for my headshots and portraits but a bit too long for full body shot as the communication will be a little challenging.

Thats a nice focal length for macro, for portraits I have the 90 and that is so, so good I doubt I buy it for that reason but if I didn't already own the 90/2 I might. The 90 gets in pretty close as it is anyway & perhaps OIS would have been nice but given that you'd be shooting portraits above 1/160 to cancel out any movement from the subject OIS would do little for you there. The 135L f/2 was my favourite canon lens I don't think the 90/2 matches it, I prefer the 56/1.2 for portraits probably because the Fuji bodies are smaller and I can get closer without cramping my subject with a big camera and lens.

Buy, yea, for a macro it looks nice. Me I'm eager for the 8-16[Ish] f/2.8 and the 200/2 if they ever make it :/
