I'm really happy with the a9. It feels like overkill a lot of times, but it rectifies a lot of the issues I've had with the a7rII for anything that isn't pretty static.

I'm sure the MKIII a7 bodies will inherit a lot from the a9. I could live with less FPS, and would have preferred to spend less money...but it was largely a matter of timing for me. I had a lot of random events this summer and my pipeline of weddings starts flowing in Sept.

My filter dilemma relates to wanting a Reverse Grad ND....... but for the lox you cant get a circular version and if I use a rectangular filter system the reverse area covers almost the whole face of the lens.

In this situation getting rid of the 10 and 21 and going to the 12-24 with filter adapter would get me the reverse grad.

so many issues. I should just go shoot

Mickey good to see an RX100xx out in use. I shot some van pics this morning with mine to document progress.

Heading out in the morning for a 7 day campervan trip. Praying for some nice weather to allow me to get some landscape photography done. Here's hoping

I have no interest in the A9, but would be very interested in an upgrade to the A7Rii when Sony gets around to announcing that.

My interest in the 12-24 is there, but not huge. I tend to prefer my primes and would find it hard to get rid of them in favor of zooms. The filter issue adds to that dilemma, since I do a lot of shooting with water. I also like ND filters for blurring out people (there are ALWAYS people where I live, so that's a plus).

Continuing with the "product photography" series from yesterday. More ND lenses to sell.

I used Gene's suggestion on adjusting the white point for this edit. That definitely helps. Thanks for the tip!

The Canon FD 135/2, shot with the FE 90 macro.

It's funny how everyone reacts differently. Myself personally I don't have any interest in an a7rIII or a9R. I found the 42mp to be too much to deal with and if rumors are right, a 60-80MP sensor will be even more demanding on lenses, shooting discipline, and if I remember reading correctly, diffraction will be an issue earlier. I couldn't see needing to buy GM level glass for everything.

More and more I'm completely floored by the A9s ability to track. This shot is nothing special but it does demonstrate the cameras skill set. 85 GM wide open. My daughter likes to swing on her belly then launch off at the high point backwards. This was just one of about 15 shots in perfect focus. It's just silly and almost feels like cheating, HAHA

So far I've acquired the 24-70, 70-200 and 85 GM lenses and all are simply stellar pieces of glass. The AF on the 24-70 might be the fastest I've ever seen

Another with the 85GM

The 24-70GM sure is a great lens. I just found it too big for extended carry so I sold mine but that doesn't take away from it being a high quality lens. I'm on a mission to keep my lens purchases under $1k each going forward. We'll see how that works out.

Very pleased with FE100400GM with a6500 and a9 with 1.4TC.
The A7Rii is 'pulse focusing' in AF-C mode, OK in AF-S mode. Not good.
Also tried the 400DOii + MB V (0.57) and A7Rii and it is sad sad sad but practically
native on the a9.
The A7Rii is showing it's age and will be relegated to the 12-24, 24-70, and B18.

It's our second trip, the first was 4 days so almost double this time.
