6d2 is here.

So all of my parts for my instead-of-buying-a-6Dmk2 computer upgrade are here. Perfect timing because I am off tomorrow. Ryzen 1800X 8 core cpu, 16GB ram (for now) and a geforce 1080ti. Transfering from my current build is the case, 1000watt PSU, 2x 250GB SSDs, and 12TB of spinning disks. Old build is an ancient quad core i5 2500k OC'd to 4.3ghz. Overclocking really gave that thing longevity.

They are a great cpu. Been thinking of just upgrading the GPU myself. Still on 580. I went to the darkside and got a mac a year ago for a change.

I think it is best to stick to 6d2 since it is a newer camera rather than buying an older camera. As much as people may say about the DR issues on the 6d2, it would still be a huge upgrade to majority of the users who are looking to upgrade to their first full frame system.

If money is no problem, sure. Otherwise, what about a used 6D ?

So in then UK that makes the 5DIV just over 7 weeks average wages, no wonder you guys have more kit than us, it's more than half the relative price we pay!

I can afford the 6d2, but I also dont want to waste money that otherwise I could invest if glass. Your suggestion of a used 6d makes more sense. The used 6d means, I can keep both the 60d and the 6d. That makes it brilliant bang for buck.

And if money was no problem you might as well get a 5d4. That camera is certainly an upgrade over the 6d and 5d3.
Otherwise i would certainly consider the 80d or a used 6d. You save some money and can put that towards a new lens which in this case would bring more to creating better photos than what the sidegrade/upgrade of the 6d to 6d2 will do.

Someone else mentioned the 80D, that would be a nice step up. However, between 6D and 6D Mk II, I'd go with the newer camera. You get a touch screen that flips out, a few more pixels, and a better auto focus system over the 6D. It's unfortunate that Canon didn't do anything with the sensor other than increase the number of pixels, but it's still not bad, a lot of landscape photographers jumped on the 6D when it was released, the new one won't be worse.

Plus, I forgot, the Dual Pixel thing that makes Live View much better.

Great choice!
You should be able to get over 60 fps running most of the current triple A games at 4K
