Hi all... Fairly new to landscape photography and want to be able to freeze the flow of water etc using slow SS.. As I will be shooting during the harsh daylight conditions on occasion, want to invest in a ND filter...
I cannot afford Lee filters right now as just bought a new lens and polarizer filter... Has anyone used the Hoya ndx400 or what other recommendations for 77mm

B&H shows the Hoya NDX400 as being discontinued.

With neutral density filters, particularly stronger ones like the 9-10 stop filters, you get what you pay for with respect to color cast.

Formatt-Hitech has come out with their Firecrest line of filters within the last few years that have reviewed very well. Their 10 stop 77mm filter seems to be reasonably priced. I'd stick with Lee, Formatt-Hitech's Firecrest, B+W, Hoya, or Breakthrough Photography for filters.

I think I'd recomment the Firecrest. B&H Link (external link)
