Once again, a good turnout. Thank you all for participating. Great entries from everyone made it difficult to pick a winner.

Paul B - If you see one, run: That's sound advice. But like any good photographer, you stayed long enough to get the shot before you ran.

M_Six - Dragonfly: Nice capture of what I find is a difficult subject. So hard to catch them in flight like this. Well done. (BTW, Paul B could have used the same title :p)

OldCrow - Owl: Beautifully done. I like the composition, but might have cut just a bit off the left side to make it a square. Either way, it's a wall hanger.

teekay - ...And Swim: Once again, very nice composition. I also love the background effect. Did you use any filter to get that, or was it just the natural reflection?

texkam: Kudos to you. When I chose the topic, I had not thought of this as a possible subject for the theme. Well done thinking outside the box.

bpiper7: Very nice shot. This time of year is great for butterflies and zinnias. Would love to see more from your garden.

darkslinger: Also a very nice shot. Besides the butterflies, the bees and other pollinators are quite busy. I like the DOF on this shot.

So after careful consideration (and consulting with our guest judge - my wife) here are the results:

Honorable mentions to Paul B and texkam for their outside the box approach.

Second place: darkslinger

And the winner is M_Six Dragonfly

Congratulations. Looking forward to your new challenge.

Thank you again everyone!

Wow, I'm surprised considering all the awesome images here. I thought mine was kind of bland. So thanks for the nod.

New contest is up.

Good challenge, and congratulations to M_Six on catching that dragonfly just right - not easy, I'm sure.

Phil, The background on my swan shot was "as shot" - no filters, and I think your pig would have been a winner you'd chucked it in the air and captured it mid-flight.;-)a
