Nice for a zoom! I've not even been able to look through my scopes for almost 6+ weeks now due to rain :(

Very best,

Very best,

thankyou :-)

I have been pleasantly surprised what can be done with a reasonable lens and short exposure times

I think i am not lacking anything either a glass or scope and a camera, but i don't know why i feel i can't get anything good from my light pollution yard until i get a strong filter for NB, your shot showing like you have no problem with LP, and with unmodded camera too, i did buy a mono cooled astro camera that i am soon to test and still doubt to have anything, and the only 2 objects in the sky i can practice on will be M45 and M42, i don't know where is M8 or M13 or M20 in the sky to give it a try, even if i find them i may find them under that bad LP glow, my best view of the sky is the North then followed by East where M42/M45 are.

Nice! Are you tracking/guiding? Should be able to push for longer subs than that?

Thanks :-)

tracking on an Al/Az mount so field rotating becomes a real problem after around 30 - 40 odd sec
I have kept all my subs to 30 sec so that DSS stays happy and gives a reasonable FOV

trying to upload my setup and the image wont upload... will try again later
Canon camera piggybacked atop of my Celestron CPC925

cheers

Wow, impressive using a sorta slow zoom lens and alt/az tracking, I may have to try something similar, you have inspired me!

go for broke :-) look forward to seeing your efforts
for wider field I will use the 70-200 L f2.8 ..... works very well
