So I have finally learned to love my 5D4 but it took a while :-P I don't like having to use the higher shutter speeds to get better clarity but I finally came to terms with it. So many great shots in this thread....you guys & gals are really amazing!!!

Prelude for tomorrow. This is the first time I've shot the sun. I used Baader Solar film to make a filter. I'm basically practicing for tomorrow. I ended up liking what appeared to be underexposed images which I then brought up in post. I also adjusted the white balance to around 10k or so. I think I got focus pretty good (although that is a challenge). Processing was quite a bit different than what I am used to. I'd love to hear your thoughts, advice, or pointers if you have them! This is very near 100% of the image. It is upsized less than 10%.

***There are some small white dots all around the sun. Considering the ISO and shutter speed I wouldn't think those are hot pixels or anything. Stars? I'm clueless but it is interesting.

looks like hot pixels to me, assuming the sensor was already hot at the time you made the picture. You should make another photo some hours later to confirm if the hot pixels still exists

The green vertical lines on the picture? They were there from the first picture

Thank you! Yes, it's the new trail to Lake Bonita that opened a year ago - near the closed Mount McGregor prison.

I have family in Saratoga Springs. On my next visit up I'll look for it.

^^^ makes you just wanna start hiking up to the top.

Another reason I'd want a small DJI Spark so I could get some great aerial videos of that landscape.... and fit in the backpack too.
