Released our first pair of Monarch Butterflies today.
Got another one just turned into a chrysalis this morning.
And then there are 14 more caterpillars to go.

Kids are loving it.

Aug 20, 2017 15:13 | #18064 A couple of shots of a grouse and one of her chicks from a week ago. Not cropped; only resized for posting. I have full body shots of the mom but I like this one with her in among the brush. There were three chicks running around but hard to get a lock on one as they stayed close to / behind the brush along the edge of the road and were constantly moving. >>> Pictures? Aug 20, 2017 15:28 | #18066 This from earlier the same day as the grouse shots above. Young osprey on the nest. They used to have the nest on top of a pole that was being used and there had been a small fire at some point. Some time in the last two years hydro put up a new pole with a pallet on top for a nesting platform. Now they have their own spot away from live wires. It is only about 30 feet from their original nest site and right next to the highway. >>> Pictures? What pictures? <<<<
