It was discussed some time back, I think the reason it isn't really being discussed as the light output is pretty dismal at 3.6w (equivalent 40w incandescent?). Now if those were T6 leds, maybe, but then the heat and power needs would have been very high. My flashlight is almost 5000 lumens with 9 T6 and 4 18650 cells.

It might have uses as a video light however, and I could see using this as a flashlight in a dark studio.

Better to get the twin head system and us the 10watt LED on each side more power for only a few dollars more the 3watt lead add on head.

I mostly shared hard light stuff here because that was in keeping with the original point - contending with shooting in bright sunlight. I have a few things around working with Streaklights, soft sources and open shade. It can be great! But again, it presents different problems, to which the solutions aren't just bigger lights.

Likewise, your note about having excess power and being able to shoot well under a light's max. I'm into that. TBH when I'm outside filling sunlight with the 360 it's at between 1/16th and 1/64th. And even then it's often ND'd. When I'm shooting "studio" stuff (usually location work indoors) the 360s are kept around 1/4th to 1/16th and I get a respectable f/8, ISO400. I find you can shoot with instant recycle for, hmm, probably around 1200 images at these settings. I haven't really put the exact limits to test, but have shot three subjects in one day back-to-back for a total of about 7 hours shooting time - pages 4, 6 and 9 in the PDF are those shoots. As you say, these are "do anything" lights. OK, maybe not e-comm, 80 looks front and back... but 3 shoots, 7 hours, ~900 frames "anything" :D

I don't really understand what the debate is about, because from what I can see the twin AD200 is virtually equal to the AD600 in power. So you can use one AD200 when you don't need all the power, and simply clip on a second one when you do. So as long as those connections remain reliable, its a serious and versatile tool.

The only main dilemma I see is that the AD600 still has the advantage of the remote head at times if you are wanting the 600Ws.

A cord option between the AD200's and twin head would appear to be the solution to that, though I just see a lot of (bulky) connections there. You could hard wire the head end like the AD600 remote head, but then you have to carry separate heads if you want the cordless option. The best solution would likely be a different port added to the side of the twin head, though I would think its doubtful Godox would change that now. An additional cord may be possible though.

AD200 is good stuff. I already have 4 and two of the twin head brackets. Going to get two more twin heads now and perhaps if the lights become sub 250 another pair just for backups.

They literally take up no room... so awesome.

I've not followed much recently but I see there are updated firmwares for ad200 and xt-1c is it worth updating for Canon user?

But 2 dual sets can, then you have 4 individual lights for when you want to do back drop lighting, rim lighting, etc. :) You don't get the transformer option with the 600 like that. And you have the cord going to down to two 600 bodies. The one advantage I see is the extendable head unit with the 1200 bulb, not going to do that with 2 dual AD200 units.

Of course by then too, you have $1800 wrapped up in lights ($1500 in 2 600, and $300 for the head/bulb). That is like 6 AD200s and 2 dual brackets.

I'm trying to push an idea of this:

Having a holster bag just like for the AD600 w/ remote head but it holds 6 AD200 units and there is a new external head option that is the same bracket/bulb of the H1200b and has one cord that comes down but then it it splits into separate cords that has 6 clip in connectors for 6 AD200 units.

They could do 3 AD200 option for 600ws and they could do 6 option for 1200ws

All from one light.
