I like this shot, I might have to print this one!

6 shots (2 across, 3 high) Had to do the pano thing because I left my wider lenses in my car a couple miles away. Plus the light was fading fast. Couldn't get it all in 1 shot with 70mm.

I had actually gone out for sunset shots, but there were no clouds. So I gave up on that and went for a walk.

I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather.
Not screaming, terrified, like his passengers.

Sumptuous tree, Matt. Exif says HDR. Did you use that or "just" the pano thing?

Just the pano. It has an HDR appearance. I was messing about with the color sliders in LR. A few pushed all the way up. I left green alone however.

Such a nice feel to this shot, good depth from the contrast between the light on trees and shadow "vignette" around the outside of the frame.

I'd crop just enough to lose the bright patch top left, or maybe clone a branch in. But I expect everyone would fiddle with it ;). Hmm, I have a Nodal Ninja - never thought to use it for trees. I doubt you needed one? I'll give it a go. A 24 or 40mm pancake is easier to carry!

What is a noodle ninja? Im fine carrying the 70-200 actually. I dont like having the pack on my back, however. Plus i was hoping to get some birds close enough. Ill have to take my 10-18 and a tripod in the future. Maybe in the fall with the changing colors. Could be a wild shot

NODAL ninja
I't a badly named thing which helps keep the perspective right. It lets you rotate the sensor around the entrance pupil (nothing to do with the NODE) of the lens. So foreground twigs still ine up with skyline twigs, which they wouldn't if you put the camera to your eye and swung your whole body round, say.
I have a 24mm which is ace. Easily goes in a pocket, it's only an inch thick. No need for a tripod.
