Is there something (cheap, otherwise I'd be better to just give them away) I can put in panties so my models aren't bothered by the fact that someone else wore them?

Have you not heard of detergent.

Here in the UK we use Best Universal Grit Grime and Effluent Remover.

As the advertising spiel goes: if Omo don't whiten it and Daz don't brighten it, BUGGER it.

I looked at online stores that sell sexy panties (it's was a tough job, but someone had to do it).
I see a lot in the $20 - $40 range. I'd just let the models keep them after the shoot.
Consider it a cost of doing business. Maybe a tax write-off?

To be perfectly frank, I would not want to handle those things after a shoot. Yuck! Forget about laundry.
The gals get to keep them or in the trash they go.

My brother's wife told me that victora's secret has some kind of padding. No sense losing $20 panties if there's a simple solution.
I'll stick to washing them if need be, or maybe giving them away if they're cheap.

Maybe you're asking about thin disposable pads used for the light flow during the last day or two of a menstrual period? There are various brand names. But let the model attach them, not you. And launder all garments between models. Come to think of it, shooting nudes would be simpler.

Thanks!

LOL, yeah - it would be easier to shoot nude. Though, I have two reasons for not doing that.

Going off topic: I hope to be able to use my pictures in some way to fight discrimination; men can be topless (since 1937) and women can't. I think it's unfair. If they're fully nude, I can't use them for that purpose.

The other reason is that I have a moral objection (christian), though I'm not yet clear on that. In the past, nudity was used to show shame, so it may not be / have been sin. But, until I know the scriptures better - I'm playing it safe. :)

After they're used you can sell them on the internet and recoup your $$$.

How does photographing women wearing panties without outer clothing fit into your program? We can't discuss religion here, so I'll just say that I searched online and found various perspectives about Christian treatment of nudity in art. It seems that anything that might arouse lust is to be avoided.

Oh, I wasn't aware. I'll end that conversation here, and send you a PM!

So I guess it comes down to which of the hundreds of Christian gods are going to be unhappy with this type of shoot. Because after all YGMV (Your God May Vary). So might I suggest.....

1. Get a release from God.
2. As suggested, gift, or 86 the undies.

But you need to address #1 before even worrying about #2.

Any reason against washing them?

Well, would you put on someone else's used underwear?

Washed? Sure.

Apparently too many others wouldn't. Should I ask the model to bring a pad, or should I supply them - if I go that route?

I have yet to have any model turn her nose up to a pair that comes out of our studio dresser. We have a laundry basket in the changing room we instruct them to put anything they put on into, even if we dont shoot. Sometimes something goes on, we go nope and it comes right back off, yet into the hamper it goes. After a long weekend of shooting my wife has my panties and bras to wash then most people do in a months time. If something even starts to look worn, it gets tossed. Not sure where everyone buys their studio panties but we never spend more then a couple bucks on each. The most is when VS does their sale and we get a bunch for $20 or $30 buts that's rare. Its not like these things are being worn day in and day out. Buy cheap, shoot with them a couple times and toss or give away. Rotate what your using so your portfolio has variety.
