A scan from a 35mm negative shot in 1977 with a Leica M3 and a 50mm lens. The film was Kodak Tri-X 400.

I thought the same. The second image is sharp but the first one is just a little soft and I don't think it's a focusing issue.

Exif on Flickr says they were shot in Auto mode.. It must have been pretty dark with ISO 1000 2.8 and no flash..

Yes, ISO 1000. Must have been dark. This explains it. Pics are nice and sharp though. Love them!
