Are those from a dark site or urban light pollution?

Amazing to see a single exposure of DSO, i hope i can polar aligned my mount then i will give it a try too, but i live in a LP area so i don't think i will have good results with single exposures even very long enough, i may try even 3-5 minutes single frames, i will give it a try regardless i don't have a strong great scope.

Dark site. Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Saskatchewan.

The park turns off the lights for the summer star party. The weather is really nice in August. The seeing and transparency are excellent. And no mosquitoes.

In the city stacking short exposures is the way to go. I haven't tried a LP filter, it may help. Longer focal length helps darken the background but shorter FLs are less demanding on the mount.

I feel your pain living in the city. I didn't plan on imaging in Cypress, just played around after the kids retired for the night. Need to find the motivation to practice at home. We're in a particularly bad area as far as light goes. A narrow slice of E/SE sky is all we have to work with. The interesting stuff (Sco, Sgr, most of Oph) that time of year are below the rooftops.
