Yes we're not out of the woods yet as the second landfall is coming tomorrow. I stopped by a shelter this morning and it's an incredible scene of tradgedy but also a beautiful scene of just genuine goodness. People helping people. I have my camera in tow and the photographer in me wants to document everything but it's not a priority.

But yes it's a scene out of a post apocalyptic movie everywhere ...streets turned to rivers, flooded cars every where. Displaced people lining shelters and stores....much respect to the Volunteeres and workers still out there to serve people. I'm at a kfc now and theyre serving food till they run out and will close up shop.

All of this is a small reprieve until that second landfall comes

I was all so dang excited about the canon TSE macros.... then I just thought. Dang if I just figure out how to 3D print a TSE adapter so I can use it on all my sony E lenses that might be a cheaper route.

Need to enlist my tech friends on this one lol

I'm buying the 16-35F4 again for 2 reasons. 1 i might get another interior or RE gig. 2. I realized i don't wanna be changing lenses out in a harsh environment like in a beach or waterfalls that's breezy. When I had the CV15 in a beach, i wanna change to the 35mmF14 but it was breezy so i did not do it.

Looks like we dodged a bullet as the second landfall ended up veering east towards Louisiana. If it struck Houston directly, it would have dropped another 20 inches on us and the whole city would have been underwater for sure as our drainage systems are tapped out already. Really really glad to report that the only thing I suffered this time around was a lost phone. Not everyone was as fortunate though. Lot's of people were left displaced, and even more will be impacted as all the water that was dropped on the city flows down the rivers and bayou's and start spilling into neighborhoods. It'll be pretty bad out here for a while.

I've been happy with mine. I haven't used the camera enough at one time to offer an opinion on the battery life but I did buy a couple of generic batteries as a backup and a charger.

I would recommend getting the remote controller as the bundle if you buy the camera. I love the idea that I can see what I'm shooting when the camera is mounted on the windshield or even when the camera is pointing at me. All aspects of the camera can be controlled wirelessly by the remote.

I'm attaching a couple of photos of mine. One of them shows the controller mounted onto a gimbal using a bracket I bought just for that purpose.

Here's a link to my Flickr page showing a video I made when testing the zoom feature while using the remote controller. I had the camera on a small light stand near the feeder and I stood several feet away with the controller.

Here's the link to the camera + remote at B&H. I'm not even sure if the remote can be purchased separately.

My newest toys arrived late yesterday afternoon, the Sony FE 100-400GM and the 2x extender. Hopefully, I'll have time to get some test shots in this morning.

When I ordered the lens, I was going to get the 1.4 extender but they were out of stock. So on a spur of the moment, I decided to get the 2x now instead since it was in stock. I'll be getting the 1.4 extender later too.

Temperatures have been near 114° with thunder clouds building up in the afternoon so not the best weather to want to be outside shooting...
