I started uploading duplicates of my images to Flickr: One at 2048px for general viewing and FM sharing, the other at 1280px just for sharing here on POTN. The 1280px image is set to be viewable only by me (but it somehow is displayable here. Because my POTN image is already at 1280px no resizing is needed.

for folks who's planning to buy a Zhiyun-Crane Tech, hold on because they will announce a new one tomorrow. I believe it should work with the fs5 and will have follow focus.

so far these are the only two images that surfaces.

I hope you didn't remove your photo on my account Alfredo. I used the words '"black waters" in an artistic sense, not that the blacks were crushed. I really liked how the water looked, especially when contrasted with the greens in the tree branches.

Not at all Gene. It just appeared darker than on my monitor. I'm going to calibrate again. Thanks for your comments. I was pleased with the way the image turned out. I think it would make a nice print.

FE 100-400mm GM order placed.

This is somewhat premature since I will need to sell my Batis 85mm and 135mm to offset the high cost. But I've decided to order before selling the Batis' lenses so I can make a better decision.

Will I be OK having a big/heavy telephoto? At worst I can decide, after a week or so, that the FE 100-400mm GM just isn't for me and I return it back. I'll still have my Batis lenses. Nothing lost except a few shipping dollars. That said, I don't order gear unless I have every intention of keeping it.

Giving Adorama a chance with this order since they have them in stock and B&H is saying "usually ships in 7-14 business days"...hope Adorama does me right.

Congrats David. I knew based on our conversation that you were on the fence about it. I hope it works out.

I follow the same process. I export at 1280px and 2048px from Photoshop and upload both to Flickr. I set the 1280px to private and share the link here. I make the 2048px version public and share it on Flickr, IG, and 500px. I upload directly to FM the 1280px version from my desktop. I typically upload the full size version to my SmugMug account as an offline backup.

I'll need to fix the link to the image I shared early this morning. It's not working anymore. Sorry about that.

Congrats David, I hope you love the lens. I finally had a chance to try it out on my a6300 and it makes for a reasonably light combo.

This is without an extender and about 50% cropped.

I ended up getting mine at Adorama and it went better than I thought. B&H is now 2nd on the list

What do yo think - should I get an a6500 for my 100-400mm? Seems like it would be a great combo for maximizing most reach and frame-rate. I don't know if the a6500 focuses better than the a7R II.

The more I reflect on my buying decision the better I'm feeling about it. Looks like it's going to be a seriously great lens. Heck, it even looks cool (I like Sony's white lens aesthetic better than Canon).

I only used it the one trip so far and have not been out again!!!! I had it on the 6500 that trip to the Tetons and it focused great for me 90% of the time with the 1.4x on it ...... I really had the feeling it was faster with the 1.4 on it lol.

I will be trying it on the 7rII this weekend...... ultimately thought it is not balanced as well as I hoped on the 6500. Really need to just sell my soul and get the A9 sooner and solve the ultimate problem
