It is an expensive kit, but if you have the patience to wait for the right used lenses, it is not much more expensive than a good Canon kit. Especially if you don't care about cosmetic conditions.
I bought the Loxia new though (at a nice discounted price), and it is worth every single penny.
Having a good kit at home and a cheap kit for traveling is more expensive than having a single good kit at all

maybe, but I'de prefer to have AF lenses if family is involved. I've got to shoot stills and video, so MF not preferred especially if my MF stuff is rather larger.
for landscapes with tripod use, I'm settling down on a sony 12-24 and zeiss 35-70 + 100-300. I'de certainly entertain the idea of these lenses for travel, depends on where I go and who with.
