I loaned my a6300 to my grandson this weekend and I miss it so much that I bought an a6500. :-) I'll give the a6300 to him as a gift to enjoy before he goes to basic training.

Wow! Really nice gift for both him and for you. :)

I have to say I am impressed with the 1.4tc on the 100-400 GM. When I tested the 2xtc on the 70-200 I had weird donut bokah but if i can get this type of bokah with the TC i am stoked.

Very nice Gene. The a6500 should pair nicely with the FE 100-400.

Lone Tree at Stone Mountain. It was quite windy up here so I cranked up the ISO to 800. I also used a relatively wide aperture at f4 to help isolate the tree.

Thanks Vinz. I strive for strong compelling compositions and I want my images to have a clear story. It's not easy when there are lots of distractions in the great outdoors. Look for simple subjects, patterns, but most importantly watch for the light.

Haha...it was totally unintentional Tim!

Sope Creek Paper Mill Ruins (more to come tomorrow)

This place was so cool to check out. I came late in the afternoon to avoid the harsh light.

"The mill was built in 1855 and was destroyed by Union troops during the Civil War, targeted for its role in paper production used for Confederate currency. The remnants of the foundation and walls stand, cathedral-like, beside Sope Creek..." Courtesy of https://www.atlantatrails.com …close-to-home-sope-creek/ (external link)

Laowa 12mm (really like the lens but I'm thinking the CV12mm would fit me better (nicer sunstars and image rendering)

More nice shots Alfredo. The CV 15mm would be super cool too. Still can't decide if the jump from 12mm to 21mm is too much or just fine.

Thank you David. That does sound like a big focal jump. I think the CV15 would be a great option to bridge that gap. I'm just trying to wrestle in my mind the thought of selling my Batis 18 for it.

My new 100-400mm came late in the afternoon, so I've only had a chance to take a few junk shots, but it seems razor sharp. Looks like it should be an amazing lens.
