Aug 31, 2017 16:33 | #275 Ltdave wrote in post #18441594 we will tomorrow! just kidding. here we go: High Noon (everyone likes the blue hour or the gold hour, this is the crappy high-contrast middle of the day +/- 1.5 hours so from 1030 to 130) 50mm (image must be created at 50mm with either a prime or a zoom set to 50mm. my first camera kit came with the 50mm f1.8) Low Angle (camera should be no higher than waist high from the ground when creating the image. i was going to say 1 foot from the ground but i might not be able to get back up my ownself!) window (any thing window or window frame related) Amish culture (not necessarily THE Amish, but something with zero "modern technology") Great list! The idea behind this is to get out and shoot more – and to look for subjects where perhaps you ordinarily wouldn’t. I’m going to list five topics/subjects and over the course of the month I’ll take photographs representing each one – or at least representing my interpretation of each one. Basically, anything goes. If one of the subjects is “red” and for whatever reason that inspires me to take a photo of something yellow, I’m okay with that – just so it gets me to look for photos in places I might not ordinarily look for photos. Basically, the topics are great. But if we all try to follow your interpretation of the topics or your intentions with the topics, it kind of defeats a major purpose of the thread. The idea is to interpret the topics ourselves. A lot of the fun is seeing what each photographer chooses to do with something like "High Noon". If you want to take yours between 10:30 and 1:30, go for it. But if someone else wants to do a cowboy theme reminiscent of the movie, or or a really cool clock, or of someone who looks particularly high or is really high up in a tree or on a roof or whatever it inspires them to shoot.. it's all good. So yeah, officially the list will be "High Noon - 50mm - Low Angle - window - Amish culture" and each participant is not only allowed but encouraged to interpret those any way they'd like - whatever works to get them out shooting something they ordinarily might not. If they want to follow your interpretations/intentions that's fine too, but not at all required.
