Congrats on the Loxia 35.

What was the shutter speed? Was EFCS off?

Thanks. Hope it works out. It's not looking promising. The first one was at f11, 1/100sec at ISO 100. EFCS was on. Would it make a difference?

Just the one corner soft? Or are all the corners equally soft?

It appears it's just that one corner from the test images. Bummer. Since I purchased this used from a seller on FM, should I send it in to Zeiss? It still has a warranty through 2019.

That is a bummer. If it is too soft for you to live with then it might be well worth it to send to Zeiss.

Thanks. I'll keep testing. The lens itself is cosmetically perfect which is excellent for a used lens.

Are your corners sharp at f8 or do you find f11 is the sweet spot at infinity.

Also do you recall how to do the decentering test?

My extreme corners never look that great, but tbh I haven't studied them intently...seems like they're adequate for me at f/8. I do indeed generally shoot at f/11 though.

Decentering tests by Jim Kasson (he knows his stuff!):

I don't think you need an official test chart, just something with a lot of detail.

Lots of stuff being announced tomorrow. New iPhone. Apparently now a Sony announcement. And Brevite is announcing some new bags on kickstarter as well.

Haha, watch the 135 GM get priced the same or lower than the Batis (which is overpriced).

It will be as much if not more, Sony will go f2 or bigger...and I will be ultra tempted...135 is awesome, amazingly I have not mounted the 135 to the a9 yet.

if it's a 135 and at least F2, i would get it no matter what. even if I have to sell the 85GM. the 135L was my go to portrait lens when i was on Canon.
