I agree with Lucas, not having to dive into the menu seems faster to me but then again I haven't shot with a Sony before.
well,, with my other cameras (canon , sony and Panasonic..
once you set your C1 , C2 .. they are on a dial , so just turn the dial , and hit record .. on sony , on canon turn the dial and flick the switch to video mode and record button is in the middle of the very same switch..
I do really like the dials on Fuji..
but i'm not really criticizing that ,, its really the not so quick transition between stills and video..
unlike with sony ,, with Fuji I have to be in video mode .. so I have to use the switch and turn from "S" to video mode ..
with canon and Panasonic this is the case as well although getting to video seems a bit easier ,, that is in my opinion of course.
i'm talking seconds if not a single second of difference in time..
not like a painfully long time , but certainly something I need to get used to in order to be quicker about it because I do like to do a lot of video with my cameras , especially on vacations or special occasions
