....I've noticed that the big cats aren't really scared of much. (lions even less so)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

LOTS of shorebirds as of late especially as ponds/lakes are evaporating. They are rather entertaining creatures!

It was interesting watching them. They were with a killdeer and it was always the killdeer that would issue an alarm call, and they would all take off and land at the next little sandbar, and then a few minutes later, the whole cycle would repeat and they would be back where they started.

Yeah they behave strange. The ones at Tualatin were moving at a pace faster than I'd think they'd want to in order to catch food. Very strange birds!!!

Go to Broughton Beach. You can park at the James Gleason boat ramp and walk along the beach Eastward. The peeps there were fairly stationary and allowed me to come within about 15 to 20 feet of them. They didn't seem fazed by humans at all, although people would have dogs off-leash all the time and that of course would cause then to take flight, although they would only go about 20 or 30 feet to the next sandy patch.
