I'm kinda new to ebay..
have been selling and buying.

so when I buy , well I don't leave feedback till I receive and check that what ever I purchased is good/functions , so usually about a day or 2 after receiving.

but when I sell never sure when is the right moment .. soon as I receive money ? after they give feedback? after X amount of days that item has been received even if they don't leave feedback ?

Curious what everyone else is doing ? or what is the standard practice?

Standard is what works for you.

As a buyer, I'm like you. As a seller, if I've been paid and the transaction went smoothly, I leave feedback.

My question is when are auctions too good to be true?

I sell quite a bit on eBay and I'm like you. Once the buyer pays, I leave positive feedback. As a buyer, once I receive the item and verify the condition, I leave positive feedback.

It seems like 80% of the vendors I buy from wait to leave feedback after I, as a buyer, have left them positive feedback. Even though they have promptly received my payment, I guess they want to make sure everything doesn't go sideways if there is a problem

I leave buyer feedback as soon as I am paid. I leave seller feedback usually the day after I get the item so I have a chance to use it for a bit to make sure it works.
