lol. I am familiar with the anatomy of lips and I was sure there was no tongue, I was just saying that it just APPEARED that way in the image. It's a sweet interaction between a mother and adorable baby, and nothing should pull the viewer out of seeing that moment, especially the APPEARANCE of something that isn't actually there.

How would you edit the picture?

If the dark stripe along Mom's lip were made to be less noticeable (blend in with the rest of the lip), it would eliminate the possible visual mistake that there's a tongue there.

I don't see how a tongue would be inferred. There has to be a bottom lip in that expression: if a tongue was extended, a border of a bottom lip would still be visible underneath. IMO, I wouldn't do any kind of retouching of the lip's border because that's the natural skin tones of the mother. Although if you were going to work on that area....perhaps brightening and adding some more saturation to her lip (to further separate). With the picture as a whole...is this the whole frame, or can you crop a bit further down? I might try bringing out their expression by having some induced vignetting in the corners, as well as softening in corners/sharpness in the center.

Yes that is the whole shot, no crop.

Others have said it; at first glance, this pic looks a little too sexual to me.

My earlier post was removed by the mods. Still not sure why, maybe my choice of words? I have 3 kids, my wife had 1 kid. Totaled we have 7 grandchildren. Neither of us has ever kissed any of them on the lips. Tongue or no, to me it's (fill in your own word). The mods may delete again.
