Just went through the entire thread. Primarily because I am making the switch from Canon FF to Fuji APS-C. And about to pull the trigger on XT-2.

First observation - excellent imagery, everyone. I saw some amazing photos in here. And if you love photography, you have to like what Fuji delivers.

Second observation - I did not find many photos with the 16-55 f2.8 lens. I find that surprising. I admit, that's what I wanted to see, because I am thinking that should be my first lens in the X system.

So, what am I missing? What's the reason for most of you not owning that lens?

Oh, and, one more thing - anyone regrets making the switch to Fuji? If so, why?

Because the 18-55 kit lens rocks! I don't need 2.8 or the size/weight of the 16-55.

No regrets.

Welcome to the subform, there is a lot of knowledge here even though this is canon based forum.

Check out my gallery I own the 16-55 and I love it, TwoHotShoes has a very detailed write up of the lens on his blog. One day I will wrote one also.

I have 0 regrets, the weight savings plus the excellent fuji color rendition were the first stand outs when I switched from canon. The best advice I can give is when you make the switch don't try to shoot it like a DSLR this system has many advantages and of course its not perfect. What do you shoot primarily?

Thank you for reinforcing confidence in my decision to leave the DSLR world and come over to this side. Although, I still have a Sony A7Rii at this point.

Fuji colors (mainly the rendition) is a major reason for going with Fuji.

I primarily like to shoot people. I've done weddings in the past, but now, I only shoot for me - family/friends stuff, street photography, travel, etc. - and loving it. :-)

And earlier today, I ordered XT-2 and a 16-55 2.8. Stoked!!

You are going to love the JPEGS, I have been shooting raw since my canon days but fuji's JPEGS are awesome. I do save in both formats in case I really want to dig into a file.

Too big, one of my many reasons I to switch from Canon was size. Happy owner of the 18-55 f/2.8-4 which is much smaller and has IS.

I don't have an X-T2 so none of my images are in this thread, but I have the 16-55 pretty much glued to my camera and most of my recent posts in the general Fuji thread have images from the 16-55.

The 18-55 is awesome, but the 16-55 is better and enough better to justify the cost and larger size. I think the size actually balances nicely on the XT.

Would you please elaborate on this?

Sure, I was speaking in terms of AF and using a speedlight to assist AF.

This is quoted from TwoHotshoes about using speedlight asssist.

"No mirror less camera can use a speed light for AF assist, unless you like blinding your clients with the bright point-n-shoot style LED AF assist - no no no. Bad! A DSLR has a separate AF sensor tuned to allow for the infa-red beam. Oh how I wish we could have IR AF assist but alas it is never going to happen. Luckily the cameras focus down to -3EV and, like every camera, the AF will slow down if the light is not there but at least you have the excellent manual focus assist features of a mirrorless camera. I have mine set to zoom in to the selected AF point once I start to turn the focus ring."

And here is a link that helped me in the beginning on selecting the right focus settings for the job.
