Sep 25, 2017 12:40 | #8393 Toronto has had some very hot weather these last two weeks after missing most of the summer. Headed up north for a day on the beach and remembered that there was a rock a couple hundred yards offshore - and asked if she would swim out, and put on a dress, and let me take a picture - going to try and do a series of these next year wearing real dresses, hats, full make-up etc. This was the trial run. Water was a little higher earlier in the summer and you couldn't even see the top of the rock. Will bring the 5DSR and a tripod next time (used the 1DXii and the 100-400Lii). IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/YNAhFA![]() ![]() ![]() Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Sep 26, 2017 07:23 | #8396 I know - easily done. This was a test shot for the big project next swimming season unless we get some really good weather in October and then we will go back and do it. We ski in the area in the winter and have a place to stay so it is an easy fun day trip for us. I'm still recovering from my leg break in ski season, and this beach is very rocky to enter so I'm not 100% stable in the water and need to be on shore, so I wanted to test if 400mm was long enough, I don't think it is so will bring the 1.4x III, and the 20Mpix 1DXii doesn't give me the resolution I want - so now I know the need my 5DSR / A7Rii. There is also another rock, not to far away, that I would love to do a couple shoot with lady in wedding dress one one and guy in suit on the other - of maybe crazy things like people is ski gear holding their skis etc. Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC.
