I was watching a little Grebe, it was a long way out but was getting closer to me. I thought to my-self, I just get this shot and then I will call it a day. Then from nowhere a low flying kingfisher flew in front of me and landed in a tree about 10 metres to the right of me. It stayed for a few minutes I took 20+ photo's, I turned my head to see if the Grebe was still there and then the kingfisher had gone as quick as it came. A great finish to a very nice day. I plan to go back to the same spot when the light is better one early morning and hopefully see it again.

Ended the weekend with another swarm of birds, mostly Parulas and Magnolia Warblers (again), but had some irregular visitors:

My first White-eyed Vireo:

I was cleaning up my 2017 folder when I came across this shot of a Blue Tit. I thought it cute enough to process.
Taken just before sunset from my living room. :-P

Bearded Tits are absolutely stunning birds, they make a very distinctive ping sound. You cannot mistake it. I have seen flocks fly around with as many as 20 birds. They move their way through reeds normally low down and on the odd occasion they will pop up now and then. They come and go. These were on the Somerset levels. The females do not have the black moustache/beard like look as the males do. I took these this around 8am this morning. It was very over cast, cloudy, and just dull morning.
