Leaving Pier24 around noon, Nifty ran into the lunch fitness crowd in front of the building.

He thought Fire Boat #3 next door was cool.

On the way home he stopped in Kenwood for lunch at Cafe Citti for a great Italian sandwich and then up to the St. Francis Vineyards & Winery to do a little wine tasting.

The bell in the tower was made in Italy by the Marinelli Foundry, the oldest foundry in Italy and producers of bells for the Vatican since 1200 A.D.

St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of animals and ecology, and founder of the Franciscan Order that established numerous missions and vineyards throughout California.

Hard to beat a setting like this.

Oh! Nifty recommends the 2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and the 2014 Cab from the St. Francis Lagomarsino Vineyard. If you can find the 2013 Lagomarsino - it's even better!

Earlier in the day, Nifty had fun with this shot.

The other day, out on the coast, he enjoyed seeing this man and his best friend just watching the waves roll in.

On the way out to the Pacific Ocean Nifty stopped by the Armstrong Redwoods Preserve to check out the trees.

The Parson Jones redwood is tallest tree in the Preserve @ 310 feet. Nifty could not see the top.

The hikers in this shot give you some idea of how big this redwood is at the base.

To the best of my knowledge it is permanent. The Foundation is well funded and actively making new additions to the collection.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm disappointed with myself for my Pier24 shots.
In my defense, I was so caught up in the exhibit photographs that I neglected Nifty.

Love this abstract.

Thanks! I cropped the shot to get rid of some nasty sun glare and ghosting. The initial crop had some interesting angles so I cropped it further into an abstract. :-)

Having 50 megapixels to play with can effectively make Nifty a nice telephoto lens.

Super series of images Tim, without starting an argument with anyone, I reckon you rank up there as the best Nifty host yet. Great work, and love how you make the effort to explain what we are seeing.

Thanks Ian! I'm just having fun playing a Nifty tourist in the California Wine Country.

Speaking of which, we're not just about fine wines, but also fine food.

A must visit place for any tourist is "The Shed" in Healdsburg.

Inside The Shed...lots of fine foods, spices, oils, a Larder, a coffee bar, organic veggies and a cafe.
