Posting some of my favorite shots from the past season. These are all of the Middlebury College Panthers, a Division 3 school in Vermont. The men were ranked #1 going into the NCAA tournament this year. Their great run sadly came to an end at home in the Elite 8.

What is the subject of shot #3?

That shot is actually the product of a missed autofocus on the player shooting. So inadvertently, the subject is the crowd.

It may seem harsh but I suggest that one should have been deleted.

Why? People are standing up & focused on the play. Doesn't it tell a story?

The player is taking up too much of the frame for the crowd to be the story. It would have been an automatic delete for me. To each his own though.

Ironically enough, I have spent the most time looking at that one than the others...

The crowd has some characters in it!

I dig the Tune Squad jersey in the front row.
The guy at the player's back appears to be looking around the player (he is looking around the ref, but still).
A couple of people seem to be clapping already and the one girl in the middle under the shooter's arm seems to be in the motion of throwing her hands up to cheer. Do they know something everyone else doesn't, or just overly optimistic?
Fans of other teams/sports there. I see Cubs, Mets, Flyers, and Royals.
Guy about half way up on the left is tired (yawning)
Guy in the upper left in a grey shirt is really tall! (might also be standing on the bench and a person sitting in front of him)
Guy next to the flyers fan, above the mets fan in the upper right looks to have his tongue out?
Is that a guy in a ghillie suit above him?

among others. :)

EDIT.. along the lines of the crowd being characters... in the 2nd pic... red hat in the front row, just above the second person from the left on the scorer's table... is he flipping the bird? LOL
