Reading David's post above I didn't know it's about some of my images. I apologize. I read back about 5 pages and can't find David's post. i gotta go further back.

Whatever I'm really sorry if some of them are inappropriate. no more sexy stuff. maybe on the other thread i created.

In the past I worked in a very open office environment and if I was caught viewing near-nude sexy posts it had the potential of threatening my employment. Such images never personally offended me, but might have offended a coworker who could have filed a complaint against me.

But I'm not in an office any more, so I have no workplace-safety concerns like that any more. Nonetheless, others here may still have that concern, so it's nice to be mindful of it. Vinz, as much as I can recall I regard all your photo posts in this thread as "safe for work". There were just a handful of near-nudes in the previous thread I recall as having a potential workplace danger.

from now on, i will post only non people images here and some gear(a.k.a. GAS) discussions.

i created a thread for only portrait and events. that's where i'll post people shots. here is for anything else.

That won't do at all. I am asking you to please continue posting all your photos here - especially your people images! I'll leave it to others to express any reservations - I no longer have any.

I got caught up in some pre-order GAS regarding the now-released Macphun Aurora HDR 2018. I'm working with it right now and it's looking like the worst HDR app I've ever tried. Massive hdr halos that won't go away. Ridiculously oversaturated, and too contrasty.

I am hopefully missing something, but I've never had such a negative first impression of software before.

David, I think it defaults like that. Zero out the initial sliders for HDR. Check out this video. I like this guy's approach to using the application. Trey and others crank everything way up so the final images look oversaturated.

Note: I'll download my copy tonight.

While we're on the subject of apps, how many of you are using Rayo Pro?

Tim, I use parts of Raya Pro. Most of my luminosity masking is done via Lumenzia. I do like the sharpen edge protection feature of Raya Pro though.

I'm anti GAS right now, sad day actually, sold off and shipped off the a9 today, officially sitting with 0 Sony gear and about $5k more in the wallet and set aside for the house. Time restraints are real and will have to do with my wife's Canon EOS M system for now. Felt wasteful sitting on my desk not being used. Had an internal struggle of it not being used and then finding excuses to take it out, like taking $6k worth of gear with my kids to the playground, lol. I was probably the only one chasing after a 2 yr old with a FF Sony camera and a bag of primes. Next summer when the kids are a littl older and the housing situation has settled, I'll get back in the game. I'll still keep up with you guys though.

Rarely doing HDR, but if so I'd use Photomatix, because it's already on the computer.

TMaG surely you still have something that shoots?
I say keep shooting regardless of what camera....it's good for the soul.

6 hours of CE today so didn't stray far.
Planted this bush two years ago hoping for someone to comply.
One shot in the morning with the FE100-400GM and another shot
in the afternoon (between CE classes) with the 400DOii.
I will say the latest a9 firmware update is a charm of charms. To ME
AF is practically native now.
