Going for a different look in processing my bird pics. More on the artistic side. I'm not a Photoshop pro and just learning my way.

The 5D4 is changing the way I take photos. In some cases, I can expose for the highlights and fix the rest of the photo in Lightroom. Here's an example from yesterday. I'd love your feedback; especially if it looks overprocessed somehow. To me, it looks like what I saw.

Mt. Shuksan reflected in Picture Lake:

And here's the "as taken" shot:

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Maybe a slight touch over saturated in green? But it looks really nice.

Greens look good to me but red has a few oversaturated spots lol, then again I'm looking on my phone

This reminds me of this sunrise earth channel from about ten years ago, they had this black/white animation of some crows with high contrast with some awesome music. Have never seen it anywhere since, and the channel was removed but changed names several times.

Sweet shots!

Actually just found: https://vimeo.com/33630336 (external link)

Have you considered entering Aviation Week's photo contest? The prize money isn't much but the pictures would be seen by many.

That reminds me how disappointed I was when it stopped airing. That's the kind of nature stuff I've been trying to do with my little videos. I'll have to check out the vimeo channel.

There were some amazing photos that were finalists last year. Not sure if mine could stack up honestly.

RIP to my 5D4 ...... it's completely dead, won't even turn on at all. Yesterday the batteries were at 83 and 87% (in a grip) and today it wouldn't turn on. Pop batteries on the charger and they were completely dead. Charged them completely and pop them in the 5D4 ..... nothing! I tried removing the grip, still dead .... the day before a big car show I'm attending and no backup body, and the 1 year Canon warranty expired 2 weeks ago ......

Send it in ASAP. I've been in similar situations and they have extended the warranty as a courtesy and on one occasion they prorated the charge based on a hidden 'courtesy' warranty. Did you by chance use a payment method such as a credit card that extends the original warranty?

I have the best buy accidental damage coverage but I'm saving that for catastrophic damage lol, it's getting shipped to Canon tomorrow I called the CPS line she said they usually extend to 13-14 months as needed so that was a relief!

It seems the first batch of 5D4 have that issue of the PC board just failing out of nowhere
