Yeah, the Boks are definitely going through a rough path, although in fairness, the ABs had that kind of game where they could do no wrong, at least after the first 20 minutes.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Had a chance to play with one of these at a recent Motor Racing Track Day, with both a Canon supplied 1DX2 and my own 5D4.

Just for good measure I tried a few with my 1.4 and 2x converters too.

Needless to say I was impressed with every combination!!!

Couple of surf shots as the swell from Maria made it's way to South Florida.

Very nice.

I swear, I'm going to get a decent photo of sandhill cranes sometime before I hang it up.

We have a large number who winter here but they hang out in this cow pasture run by the University of Florida. It's impossible to get a photo with a background (or foreground, for that matter) that is remotely acceptable. ;)

I have that on my list for this winter. We'll see....it's been on my list for a few winters now.

Thanks, if you ever get a chance to check out Vierra Wetlands, I-95 exit 191, it's a great place for all kinds of birds. Cow pasture, probably not so much, I'd probably step in something, LOL.

John

John,

Thanks for the suggestion. It's a bit of a hike from here, but I'll make sure it's on my list.

Drove to a local wetlands about 30 minutes from home, not a lot going on. When I got home, this guy was in the back yard looking for some juicy ants in a dead tree. I guess I should have stayed home. Pileated woodpecker.
