My recently purchased 580EX came with the same ballistic nylon case as in the photo. I didn't know there was a leather version.

I was unaware of a leather case too. I bought this from a retailer here in Australia. So it's sourced from Canon Australia.

Its the worst item in the bag takes up more space than a big zoom 24-105 type i pack the top inside the bag put a loop through the shpere and hang it on the outside off the bag or belt pack i also find it not easy to work with keeps getting Knocked off and dropping the head of the flash when on bounce and at angles, I've got the cloudy and do like the results from it but its hard work

Well i acutually havent posted my bag yet!
Because i got my proper one today! Wahey!
From FIREWALLROB - A BARGAIN!
I can fit tripod and monopod on the outside! CRAZY!
Also a reflective jacket in the middle pocket, this being the official best product for photography as it makes people move out the way!

haha! Yeah im not into wildlife photography!
Mainly it gets me noticed! Which is always helpful when doing freelance as people remember things like that and remember what you do!
I cannot wait to fill that bag up with a 1d series!
