Selling this 16-35 2.8 II that I got from a friend as a partial payment of money he owes me for ordering computer parts for him
Thankfully I was able to quickly test this lens before my 5D4 died on me, and everything works like it should!
HOWEVER!!! There is some fungus, not a lot but it's there. I've had lenses with much more fungus cleaned by Canon with no issues (I'm talking fungus on several elements all over the elements) this one appears to only have one element affected
Price reflects the fungus issue, if it doesn't sell in a few days I will send it in myself for cleaning and relist it at a higher price appropriately or you can use it as is and save $$$
Date code on it is UZ08 and it comes with front and rear caps and Canon hood
$450 includes Paypal and Fedex 2 day air insured shipping to a CONUS address

SOLD

Pics taken with the lens straight out of the camera just converted from RAW to JPG, sorry they're not the best I was just testing making sure it worked, click on link below each pic to see full resolution. These were all taken with a flash at ISO 100 and f/2.8 first two at 16mm last one at 35mm

Well, 3 things lol:
1- gift isn't allowed on here for your protection and mine
2- ground shipping will not make much difference since I get a discount on 2 day air, some destinations 2 day air is actually cheaper
3- the last 2 lenses I had cleaned for fungus cost under $300, if you add shipping cost to Canon I could have it cleaned and checked and all nice and resell it for $800-850 without losing money :p
That's why I priced it at $450, after Paypal and shipping I will net $400 on it, and that's the bottom price any lower I might as well send it in to Canon :)
Thanks for the offer though!

Does fungus generally spread? Looks like iq is great. Does this lens vignette that much normally?

It depends on how humid it is I think, I think below 50 or 60% humidity the spores don't spread, above that they do. I'm in Vegas with very low humidity (16% as I type this) so it's not spreading here for sure lol. He has a dry cabinet he keeps his lenses in that is set at the lowest setting which is 35% but he got this lens new a few months before getting the cabinet so I think that's when it appeared.

As for the vignette, it's actually not that bad what you see is the flash that doesn't cover the whole frame. I'd take more pictures but my 5D4 just stopped working on me yesterday, I have to ship it to Canon Monday apparently it's a known PC board failure issue in early 5D4s .... just my luck as I don't currently have a backup body!

The way I see it is you can get the lens for $450 and use it as is especially if in a dry environment, and if you wanted to have it cleaned it'll still end up about the same or less as buying another used one.
