Over the past few days I've had a red admiral butterfly visiting the garden. It seems to have got used to me and allowed me some pretty close shots.

Sony A6000/Sigma 105 OS. Natural light except #6.Handheld. Many of the shots have been focus stacked

Brian,
The last one is very nice. I liked the extreme closeup the best though. The detail is amazing. How close to the subject are you when you're composing one like that?

Great set Brian. There seems to be quite a few Red Admirals around. I've got some feeding on Ivy in the corner of my backyard. It's a bit of a stretch to get at them most of the time, but you've encouraged me to try harder.
