That sounds like a plan. I use bbf for my other two cameras but I'm using photographing birds. I know the 1D IV pretty well, having had one for a couple years now. The 6Dc? not so much.

I get a bit confused with bbf and using a shutter release. If I focus with the back button... release it... things stay in focus when I push the shutter release to take the photograph?

Yes that's it! However, I don't use live view much so may not apply there? try it and see. Best wishes and have fun!

First Shots with this lens. Dull overcast day with no sun, 2nd shot is 100% crop. 80% Smart Sharpen applied PP.

It won't be replacing my 7dmkll and 100-400mkll combo but this combo's lightness will come in handy when my bursitis is playing up and I need to use something lighter
