I’m now in the market for a 5D4 to replace one of my 5d3. It will mostly will be used for weddings and portraits and some landscapes. I was debating the 1DX too but decide with the 5d due to some other advantages that I think are more important to what I shoot.

From what I’ve seen in this thread and other reviews, looks like the shadow noise improvement from pushing is very noticeable better than the 5d3.

Also the ability to allow one-shot and Servo on separate buttons is god-send. Been waiting for that since forever!

Holidays sales and Black Friday can’t be here fast enough.

Not only that. Both the AF-ON and * buttons have additional dub options Canon calls the Detail Set. I do a lot of birding but I still like to use the shutter button for static shooting where I use One Shot. AF-ON is set so AI Servo kicks in. AI Servo, Case 6, 61 point AF zone kick in when I press the * button which I use for emergency BIF or when I feel like goofing around.

I wish Canon would add more options to that menu. Maybe one day.

Forgot to say. I joined CPS Canada to get the 1DX II discount. I would really like it but it was just a bit too much for my budget. Besides I lost reach going to FF for wildlife and the 30 megapixels, helps with cropping.

32,000 ISO at an indoor dog show.

Not sure if you have seen this. The crop is from the bird in the lower left corner.
