Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge
...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

Rules are simple:

  • Download the image file from the current week

  • Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (1 entry per week)

  • The owner of the original image will choose a winner and runner-up

  • The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc (Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files) The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.

Did a lot of playing to get an apocalyptic feel to it.
Made adjustments in LR......Highlights(lowered) Shadows(raised) Set white & black then sent to PSCC
Selected the wheel and adjusted the edges in Mask and Select. Warmed it up. Lowered the exposure. Painted in some distress. Fiddled with the jet(warmed it up, brightened and increased the exposure. Found a suitable sky that would give the impression of impending doom.............

ps............just decided this is really a bad attempt!

I'm not competing this week but wanted to see how well Landscape Pro handled such a complicated object in the sky.

This was just one of many possibilities using that plugin.

This is proving to be time consuming turning on all the bulbs.

Very nice edits to all!

This week’s victory has to go to Cfdesigns for a great seasonal feel... you really shined up that ride.

Runner up is photosbytw for the wonderful autumn evening sky soliloquy.

My camera is experiencing some focusing issues lately so all I have is a few shots from the farm. Hopefully this will be okay. Here is the link: https://www.dropbox.com …1ilguir/_MG_0604.CR2?dl=0 (external link)
