11950 posts packed with inspiration and information - thanks to you all. Reading through all of this has been a pleasure.

Posting my first attempt at a rig shot. There is room for improvement, but that is a part of the joy with photography.
Shot this with a RX100IV compact since my boom is too short for the 35mm Nikon. Trying to decide if I should extend the boom or getting a wider lens...or both.:-)

Looks good, but you're right, you need a wider lens.

Welp. Been four years since I had a chance to break out my DIY rig. I was totally out of practice and forgot some techniques until after. There was some substantial vibration in the shot, (car was running), in addition to some cracks on the pavement so the image isn't super sharp. Regardless, it was a colorful evening. Print worthy? No, but worth a share, especially since this wonderful thread has been relatively stagnant for a while.

Info:
A7RII with MC-11 and 17-40L.
21mm ISO100 ƒ/14.0 for 1 second
Single exposure. My PS skills are terrible compared to some of those in here.
Car: My own Stg2 C7A6.

Beautiful light & it looks very nice! I think you're being a bit hard on yourself! Keep it up!

Cool. I tried once to use my drone for a long car exposure shot but it in a city setting and no communication with the driver. I was under a bridge and he was driving over it at sunset. It would have been cool but I didn't get a good image that day but I've wanted to try again with more prep. Nice work.

Here's my latest attempt. It ended up being a 2-page spread as part of a feature in S3 magazine.

Anyone using a 35mm f2 IS mounted FF for rigging? I have yet to test this out. I've shot before a 17-40L on APS-C which is equivalent to 27ish at widest and I can't remember if that was too close or not. I would realllly like a 16-35L for this but $$$.

Another idea: any pancake lenses wider than 25mm for EF mount?
